We may need to contact you before a session if we require further information.

Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that plans change, so we aim to keep our cancellation policy as fair and straightforward as possible.
If Wunder + Kin cancels
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a class, workshop, holiday activity or party, we will contact you as soon as possible and, where appropriate, offer a transfer, credit or refund. Any refund or other remedy will be provided in accordance with your statutory rights and the circumstances of the cancellation.
Where we cancel, you will normally be offered either:
Â
-
a transfer to an alternative session; or a full refund or
-
credit, depending on the circumstances and the option available for that booking.
If a session cannot go ahead because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, we will communicate the options available to affected customers as soon as possible.
If you need to cancel
Â
Our cancellation and refund arrangements may vary depending on the type of booking.
Â
Unless otherwise stated at the time of booking:
Â

We will always consider exceptional circumstances reasonably and sympathetically.
Â
Nothing in these terms affects any rights you have under UK consumer law.
Â
Where a booking is made online, statutory cancellation rights may apply depending on the nature and timing of the service.
Certain services, including leisure activities provided on a specific date or during a specific period, may be exempt to the usual 14-day cancellation period.
Children & Parental Responsibility
Wunder + Kin Artspace provides activities for children and young people within the age ranges stated for each session.
Â
The adult making the booking remains responsible for providing accurate information about the child and for ensuring that the child is collected by an authorised adult where required.

For drop-off sessions, children remain the responsibility of Wunder + Kin Artspace for the duration of the booked session.
Â
Parents and carers attending with children remain responsible for supervising them and for following reasonable instructions from Wunder + Kin Artspace staff.

Â
If someone other than a parent or usual authorised adult will be collecting your child, please let us know in advance.
Â
We cannot release a child into the care of someone we have not been told is authorised to collect them.
Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
At Wunder + Kin Artspace, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority.

We want our studio to be a place where children feel safe, welcomed, respected and listened to, and where they can explore creativity with confidence.

This policy explains how we approach safeguarding and child protection within our studio.

Our commitment

Wunder + Kin Artspace is committed to:
-
providing a safe and welcoming environment for children;
-
promoting children's wellbeing and helping them feel safe and respected;
-
taking concerns about a child's welfare seriously;
-
maintaining appropriate safeguarding and child protection procedures;
-
ensuring adults working with children are suitable for their role and appropriately checked where required;
-
maintaining appropriate professional boundaries;
-
responding appropriately to disclosures or concerns; and
-
working with parents, carers and relevant professionals where this is necessary to protect a child.
Â
Our approach is informed by relevant UK safeguarding guidance, including Department for Education guidance for providers of out-of-school settings.

Recognising concerns

Safeguarding concerns can take many forms. They may relate to:
-
physical abuse;
-
emotional abuse;
-
sexual abuse;
-
neglect;
-
bullying or harassment;
-
exploitation;
-
domestic abuse;
-
online harm; or
-
anything else that causes us to be concerned about a child's safety or wellbeing.
Â
A concern does not need to be proven before it is taken seriously.

If a child tells us something

If a child chooses to tell us something that causes concern, we will:
-
listen calmly;
-
take what they say seriously;
-
avoid leading questions;
-
avoid promising to keep information secret;
-
make an appropriate record of the concern; and
-
follow our safeguarding procedures.
Â
We will only share information with those who need to know in order to protect the child or respond appropriately.

Confidentiality

We cannot promise a child absolute confidentiality where there is a concern about their safety.
Information may need to be shared with a parent or carer, safeguarding professionals, the police or another appropriate organisation where this is necessary to protect a child.
We will handle information sensitively and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Adults working at Wunder + Kin Artspace

Everyone working with children at Wunder + Kin is expected to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and behave in a way that promotes children's safety and wellbeing.
We will undertake appropriate suitability checks for roles involving children, including DBS checks where the role is eligible and a check is appropriate.
We do not rely solely on DBS checks. Safeguarding is an ongoing responsibility and includes appropriate conduct, supervision, training and procedures.

Photography and contact

We maintain clear boundaries around photography, social media and communication with children.
Wunder + Kin Artspace will not privately message children or communicate with them through personal social media accounts.
Photography and social media are managed in accordance with our Terms & Policies and photography policy.

Review

This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, guidance or the way Wunder + Kin Artspace operates.
Health & Safety
Wunder + Kin is committed to providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment where children and adults can enjoy making and exploring art.

Because art can involve materials, tools, furniture, water, paint and other potentially messy or hazardous activities, we take a practical and proportionate approach to managing risk.

Our commitment

We will:
-
maintain a clean and suitably organised studio;
-
regularly check furniture, equipment and art materials;
-
use age-appropriate materials and equipment wherever reasonably possible;
-
provide appropriate instructions and supervision;
-
identify potential hazards and take reasonable steps to reduce risk;
-
maintain appropriate first aid arrangements;
-
maintain fire and emergency procedures;
-
keep emergency exits accessible;
-
record and respond appropriately to accidents and incidents; and
-
regularly review our health and safety arrangements.

Risk assessments

Activities and areas of the studio will be considered for potential risks.
Where appropriate, we will carry out written risk assessments and put reasonable control measures in place.
Risk assessments will take account of the age of the children attending, the nature of the activity, the materials being used and any relevant individual needs that we have been made aware of.

Art materials and equipment
We aim to use materials that are appropriate for the age group taking part.
Children will be given appropriate guidance when using materials or equipment.
Some activities may involve scissors, craft tools, paints, adhesives or other materials that require additional care.
Children will be expected to follow reasonable safety instructions.

Allergies and medical needs

Parents and carers must tell us about relevant allergies, medical conditions or additional needs when booking.
We will take reasonable steps to manage known risks but cannot guarantee that the studio is completely allergen-free.
Further information is contained within our Terms & Conditions.

Accidents and first aid

If a child has an accident or becomes unwell, we will respond appropriately and provide first aid within the limits of our training.
Parents or carers will be contacted where appropriate.
If we believe emergency medical attention is required, we will contact the emergency services.
Accidents and significant incidents will be recorded appropriately.

Fire and emergency evacuation

In the event of a fire or other emergency requiring evacuation, everyone in the studio will be asked to leave the building calmly and follow the appropriate evacuation procedure.
Children attending independently will be supervised by Wunder + Kin staff until they can be safely collected.
Emergency contact information must therefore be kept accurate and up to date.

Parents and carers

Parents and carers attending the studio are asked to follow reasonable safety instructions and ensure that children remain within appropriate areas of the studio.
For drop-off sessions, Wunder + Kin takes responsibility for supervising children during the booked session.

Review

This policy will be reviewed regularly and whenever there is a significant change to the studio, activities, equipment or relevant guidance.
Illness, Allergies & Medical Information
Please do not bring your child to Wunder + Kin Artspace if they are unwell or have an infectious illness that could reasonably put other children, families or staff at risk. If you are unsure whether your child should attend, please contact us before the session.

If your child becomes unwell during a session, we will contact you and may ask you to collect them.

Please provide accurate information about:
-
allergies;
-
medical conditions;
-
medication;
-
dietary requirements where relevant;
-
additional needs;
-
emergency contacts; and
-
anything else that may affect your child's safety or participation.

We will handle medical information carefully and only share it with those who need to know in order to keep your child safe or provide the service.

Allergies

We take allergies seriously but cannot guarantee that the studio is completely allergen-free.
Art materials, cleaning products and other items used within the studio may contain substances to which some children are allergic.
We will take reasonable steps to reduce known risks where we have been informed about a child's allergy.
Where a child has a serious allergy, parents/carers should provide clear information about the allergy and any prescribed medication or emergency action plan.
If your child has a prescribed adrenaline auto-injector, please tell us and provide clear instructions about its location and use. Parents/carers remain responsible for ensuring that any required medication is provided and available when needed.
In an emergency, we may contact 999 and follow the information and emergency procedures provided by the parent/carer.
Equality, Inclusion & Additional Needs
At Wunder + Kin, we believe creativity should be something that everyone can enjoy.

Our studio is intended to be a welcoming, inclusive space where children feel comfortable being themselves, exploring ideas and expressing themselves creatively.

Our commitment

We are committed to treating everyone fairly, respectfully and with dignity.
We do not tolerate unlawful discrimination, bullying or harassment.
We recognise the protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act 2010 and will not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of:

-
age;
-
disability;
-
gender reassignment;
-
marriage or civil partnership;
-
pregnancy and maternity;
-
race;
-
religion or belief;
-
sex; or
-
sexual orientation.

Children with additional needs

Children have different ways of communicating, learning, concentrating and participating.
We will make reasonable adjustments where appropriate to help disabled children access our activities and services.
If your child has an additional need, disability or other circumstance that may affect their participation, please tell us when booking.
This allows us to understand what support may be helpful and whether any adjustments can reasonably be made.

An inclusive creative environment

We encourage children to:
-
express their own ideas;
-
experiment without fear of getting things "wrong";
-
respect different opinions and creative approaches;
-
celebrate each other's individuality; and
-
enjoy the process of creating rather than comparing their work with others.
Â
We do not expect every child to participate in exactly the same way.

Behaviour and discrimination

Discriminatory, threatening or abusive behaviour towards another child, family or member of staff will not be accepted.
If a concern arises, we will respond appropriately and aim to understand what has happened before deciding what action may be necessary.
Where behaviour places another person at significant risk, we may need to involve a parent or carer and review whether a particular activity or session can safely continue.

Our responsibility

We will regularly consider whether our services and environment are accessible and inclusive and will listen to feedback from children and families.
Where we cannot reasonably provide a particular adjustment or level of support, we will explain this openly and respectfully and, where possible, discuss alternative arrangements.

Review

This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure that it continues to reflect Wunder + Kin's values and our legal responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and other applicable legislation.
Behaviour & Respect
Wunder + Kin is intended to be a warm, encouraging and respectful environment.

We understand that children are still learning how to manage emotions, communicate and interact with others. We respond to behaviour calmly and appropriately and aim to understand the reason behind behaviour wherever possible.

We ask children to:
-
treat other children and adults with respect;
-
respect the studio and its materials;
-
listen to reasonable safety instructions;
-
avoid behaviour that could hurt or intimidate others; and
-
help us maintain a positive and welcoming environment.

Bullying, discrimination, harassment, deliberate damage or behaviour that places another child or adult at significant risk will not be accepted.

If behaviour becomes unsafe or significantly disrupts a session, we may contact a parent or carer.

In serious or repeated circumstances, or where we believe we cannot safely meet a child's needs within the session, we may ask the parent or carer to collect the child and may review whether future bookings can be accepted. We will act reasonably and take the child's individual circumstances into account.

Our approach will always aim to protect the dignity and wellbeing of the child while also keeping the wider group safe.
Photography, Video & Social Media
We know that children and their artwork are often a huge part of the joy of Wunder + Kin, but we take children's privacy seriously.

Our own photography

Photography, video and social media preferences will be collected as part of the booking process.

Wunder + Kin will never post photographs or videos of children showing their faces directly from our own social media accounts without the appropriate consent.

We will also not publish children's full names or personal information alongside images.

Where consent has been provided, we may take photographs of artwork, busy hands, backs of heads, creative processes, studio activities or other images that do not identify a child.

We will always ask for your consent to our Photography, Video & Social Media Policy at the time of booking.

Parents sharing photographs

Parents and carers are very welcome to photograph and share their own child's artwork and experience at Wunder + Kin.
Â
Adults attending Little Wunder Lab sessions with their own child who wish to capture the joy and experience, please be mindful that other children may be present during sessions. Please avoid including them in photographs or videos wherever possible and please ensure any images shared do not include the faces of other children.

If you tag Wunder + Kin in a social post or story, we may ask your permission before resharing it from our own Instagram or Facebook accounts.

We will never assume that tagging Wunder + Kin gives us permission to re-share an image of a child.

Respecting other children

Please do not photograph, film or share identifiable images of other children without their parent's or carer's permission.

If you have concerns about an image taken within the studio, please speak to us.

Withdrawal of consent

Where photography or social media consent has been given, you can withdraw that consent by contacting us hello@wunderandkin.co.uk

Withdrawal of consent will not affect processing or use that has already lawfully taken place before consent was withdrawn.

Privacy

Please see our separate Privacy Policy for full details of how we collect, use, store and protect personal information.

Emergencies, Accidents & First Aid
We have our own internal procedures in place for responding to accidents, injuries, fire and other emergencies.

If your child is involved in an accident or incident during a session, we will provide appropriate first aid within the limits of our training and seek further medical assistance where necessary.

If we believe urgent medical treatment is required, we will contact the emergency services and then contact the parent/carer as soon as reasonably practicable.

By booking a session, you agree that Wunder + Kin may seek appropriate emergency medical assistance for your child where we reasonably believe this is necessary and it is not possible to obtain your immediate consent.

Parents and carers must ensure that emergency contact details remain accurate and up to date.
Parties & Private Events
Birthday parties and private events are subject to the specific booking information provided at the time of purchase.

The adult making the booking remains responsible for providing accurate information about attending children, including allergies, medical needs and emergency contacts.

Unless otherwise agreed as part of the booking, parents/carers remain responsible for supervising children attending a party and for ensuring that children follow reasonable safety instructions. Wunder + Kin reserves the right to stop an activity if it becomes unsafe.

Party packages may include art activities, food or refreshments depending on the package selected.

Parents/carers must tell us about relevant allergies and dietary requirements before the event.

The maximum number of children for a party will be stated at the time of booking and must not be exceeded.

Our party cancellation terms are set out at the time of booking and are also included in the Cancellations & Refunds section of our Terms & Policies.
Complaints & Feedback
We want families to have a positive experience at Wunder + Kin and welcome constructive feedback.

If you have a concern about a session, booking, member of staff, safeguarding matter or any other aspect of our service, please contact us directly so that we have the opportunity to understand what has happened and respond appropriately.

We will aim to acknowledge and resolve complaints promptly and fairly.

Safeguarding concerns will be treated separately from ordinary customer complaints and handled in accordance with our safeguarding procedures.
Changes To Our Terms
We may update these Terms & Policies from time to time to reflect changes to our services, procedures or applicable law.

The latest version will be available on our website.
